Meet Claudio

Claudio Tavares is the founder and choreographer at CT Dance. He has a degree in dance, a master’s degree in creative Industries and Entertainment Business Manager at JMC Academy. His Brazilian background has given him the gift of creative expression in a variety of dance styles, and he believes that studying a wide range of styles develops the process of creation. 

For the last 25 years of his professional dance career, Claudio has travelled globally as a dancer, choreographer and producer. Over the years, he has refined his craft with some of the world's leading dancers, teachers and choreographers. Having lived in many countries, he has also studied the business of the arts and entertainment industry. “I believe we learn until the last second of life.”

Claudio’s dancing life started at a young age when he would create dance routines at family events to perform. Notably, his passion for dance began when a cousin invited Claudio to be part of a dance studio that practised Ballet, Jazz and Hip-hop classes that also performed regularly at events. It was then that Claudio realized the talent and passion he had for dance. He believed that no matter how long it would take him to learn, he was dedicated to achieving his dreams and goals.

Over the years, he learnt new dance modalities and participated in major festivals, workshops, and masterclasses. The dance industry exposed Claudio to never-ending opportunities, and he began to make connections with world-class dancers. This allowed him to understand more about dancers and what is required for a beautiful, sustainable career. 

Packaging all his experience into a company, Claudio launched CT Dance, a creative studio that develops concepts for the dance industry. CT Dance offers dance consultancy, wedding dance classes, choreography and entertainment.

Anyone who followed his career knows how important dance is to Claudio. Throughout his career, he has always strived to work ethically and have respect for everything and everyone. His mission is to multiply joy with all that he has learned with great effort and dedication.
